History

First conceived in 1936, the then owner Monsieur Dubost-Martin and his dad began digging the ground. Their plan was delayed due to the breakout of WWII. After the war, they returned, built and finished the chalet in 1947. All the outside wood was grown and cut locally from Vallorcine, and the rock for the walls were from Les Grands Montets and on-site when they dug out the base.

It remained in the same family since 1947 right through to 2009, when we purchased it. The chalet was a summer lodge only, as it had no heating, single pane glass and only one bathroom. It has been a labour of love ever since, with a complete refurbishment in 2012, and final amendments right through to 2014. We are still not finished we will continue to improve and redecorate each year. We hope you feel the history and tranquillity of the chalet and enjoy it as much as we do.
